Tract and Touch was founded in 2016 to move forward from artist Yvon Bonenfant’s explorations of how we might involve spectators as co-creators in new kinds of vocal work. Yvon has returned to work in a private artistic practice subsequent to our full ceasing of operations in 2022.

During the Covid crisis, like many arts organisations, our work halted. While there was very strong support to continue our work with Resonant Tails, our many other projects could not continue in an environment where deep breathing, voice use, close proximity, and shared objects formed a core part of the artistic experience. The Trustees decided to wind up our work. Our Artistic Director decided to work solo in the future, rather than within the charity. However, our concepts are available for other arts charities to use, should you be so interested. Please contact the Trust if you wish to do so.

Yvon was, and is, interested in including the voices of those who experience performances, artworks, and workshops, within the art itself.
